Emmerdale Bingo followed rival Soap, Coronation Street, into the Gala Bingo lobby during 2015. This 90 ball game invites players to 'escape to the country' and enjoy in-game features such as the Country Miles bonus. However is this TV themed bingo variation worth playing or should you stick to the basic game?
Emmerdale Bingo is a traditional 90 ball game that's set in the fictional Yorkshire village. Numbers are called as usual with the main object of the game to win one line, two lines and the full house. The bingo calls are done in a Yorkshire accent (we're not sure if it's a former Emmerdale star). However the calls have been adapted especially for the game.
Sheree Victoria Murphy (born 22 August 1975) is an English actress and television presenter, best known for her roles as Tricia Dingle in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale, Eva Strong in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks and Dakota Davies in the Australian soap opera Neighbours. In 2005, Murphy came second place in the fifth series of I'm a Celebrity.Get Me Out of Here! And competed in the 2015.
Amongst the calls you'll hear Home Farm Tree (33), Dingle's like to Skive (35), Sheep On The Run (71), Tom King's Up In Heaven (57) and The Hotton Bus Never Comes (61). The calls are just part of the Emmerdale theme. Each game also has Emmerdale Trail Jackpots and a Country Miles bonus. In many ways these features are very similar to those that you'll find on Rainbow Riches Bingo.
At the end of each game you'll see a white Range Rover Evoque drive around the village. The number of moves it will make is determined by the winning number call. At selected points along the route are Emmerdale locations and these correspond to a jackpot: The Woolpack Café Main Street (40), The Grange B&B (60), The Vets (80) and Dingles’ Garage (90).
If the car lands on any of these fixed points then a prize is awarded. A £75 prize for the full house winner is given when the car arrives at Dingles’ Garage. For the other locations the prize is £50 and this is shared between the full house winner and roomies who have purchased tickets for the game.
Purchase a minimum of 6 tickets in any Emmerdale Bingo game to activate the Country Miles feature game. Every move that the car moves along the village adds 0.011 of a mile to your total. In order to win a Country Miles prize you need to collect a total of 50 Miles. This means the car must make 4545 moves which equates to a few hundred games just for a £2.50 bingo bonus!
Emmerdale Bingo is a fun version of the 90 ball game. We like the Emmerdale Trail Jackpots and the number calls are good fun. A bonus is always nice, but we do feel the Country Miles feature isn't that attractive in value terms. One thing we do feel is missing are classic clips - as you get in Coronation Street Bingo. We'd love to see videos featuring the Sugdens and Mr Wilks during the game intervals.
Emmerdale Bingo is exclusively available to play at Gala Bingo.
